The
All-New 2021 Elantra is fashion forward
A new wider wheelbase, lower profile and longer body is just
the beginning of this Elantra update. Bold sculpting gives the new Elantra an
edgy, no-fear appearance while pulling your gaze along the new reflective
features and sweeping angles, connecting the updated front cascading grille and
integrated turn signals to the "flying H" logo-inspired taillamps and light bar
reaching across the back end. The design creates a slipstream look across the
back end with the vehicle-wide taillamps neatly tucked into the groove below
the spoiler-shaped trunk lid.
Inside
we see an aesthetic arrangement of driver-side tech with two 10.25-inch screens
for driver info displays and infotainment. It's sharp, it's clean, and it is
impressing a lot of reviewers. Noted in Driving.ca's 2021 Hyundai Elantra review, "In the end,
the layout and look is reminiscent of the current crop of Mercedes-Benz products." Beyond the
infotainment screen, the simple elegance of a clean dash that stretches across
the front view, unmarred by buttons and handles is refreshingly restful.
Function becomes form as the line of front vents appear to be a design element
connecting the interior front view in the same way the taillamps connect the
exterior rear visage. And finally, a feature you don't generally find outside
luxury sedans, the new Elantra features 64 color choices of customizable
interior mood lighting.
Beyond the aesthetics, the newly redesigned Elantra is a bit
more spacious, giving your backseat passengers more room to stretch their legs
than they have in the Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla with Elantra's 38 inches of
rear legroom. Even though the Elantra has lowered its stance and presents a
sleeker roofline, the 2021 Elantra has more front headroom (40.6 inches) than
the previous model. There's also a new feature wherein the driver can lower the
seat height to feel more connected to the car with a lower center of gravity.
2021 Hyundai Elantra trims - plus an All-new Elantra Hybrid
model
You'll find the all-new 2021 Hyundai Elantra in Peoria, AZ offered in
three trim levels - SE, SEL and Premium, all of which are front-wheel drive and
powered by a 2.0-liter Inline-4 Gas engine that's rated at 31/41mpg city/highway and
delivers 147 hp and 132 lb-ft of torque. The engine utilizes Hyundai's
Intelligent Variable Transmission, a system designed to more closely replicate
automatic transmission step shifts and improves response from driver inputs.
For the first time ever, we're also getting a segment-busting
2021 Hyundai Elantra
Hybrid in Peoria, AZ with all the pizzazz of the new redesign along with
an EPA estimated 53 city/56 highway/54 combined mpg on the Elantra Hybrid Blue! The
hybrid power comes from a 1.32kWh lithium-ion polymer battery (located under
the back seat), powering an electric motor that works in conjunction with a
1.6L Atkinson-cycle 4-cylinder. This pairing produces 139 hp and 195 lb-ft of
torque. The Elantra Hybrid's 6-speed, dual-clutch transmission promises to be
more responsive than the CVT found in some other hybrid models from Honda or
Toyota, contributing to a better driving experience.
