2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Review for Peoria, AZ

The All-New Hyundai Santa Fe SUV Continues the Evolution of this Popular Nameplate

This is still the same Santa Fe that you know and love, it just has been dramatically rebirthed for the better to the delight of Hyundai enthusiasts across the market. There are a lot of changes and improvements to consider regarding the all-new Hyundai Santa Fe model, and we cannot wait for it to hit our dealership's showroom this summer!

Old Favorites See An Exciting New Change

The stylish Santa Fe Sport model, Hyundai's midsize two-row crossover, is actually being retired all together, which is being replaced by the new Santa Fe. The three-row and full-size Santa Fe SUV is being appropriately renamed as the Santa Fe XL moving forward. However, this new Santa Fe model does indeed offer a third-row as an available option, but only if you select the diesel powertrain under the hood.

New trim levels for the all-new Hyundai Santa Fe continues to grow, as you can take your pick between the SE, SEL, SEL Plus, Limited and the top-of-the-line Ultimate trim.

Bigger & Bolder

Compared with the outgoing Santa Fe Sport, the all-new Santa Fe model is larger and more eye-catching from all angles. It appears much more athletic and muscular than it ever has before, which accurately reflects the newfound attitude of this popular SUV model.

Front and center, the Santa Fe's new grille is both aggressive and exciting, boasting an awesome honeycomb design with that signature Hyundai badge. Sharp angles, sweeping curves, a sculpted nose, and ultra-thin LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) all come together nicely for the new face of this all-new Hyundai SUV. It's good-looks go miles beyond its starting price tag.

Sit Back & Relax

Inside the Hyundai Santa Fe, the refined new interior cabin can seat up to five. It doesn't just seat five- it allows your loved ones to sit back, relax, and enjoy tons of interior roominess, thanks to its added length for the all-new model! A luxurious panoramic sunroof was also added, certainly a nice touch for drivers that appreciate getting closer to nature when they hit the open road.

Not only is there plenty of interior space, but there is also tons of flexible cargo room as well. With 36 cubic feet of cargo, and over 70 cubic feet of total interior storage space, you'll have more than enough room to effortlessly fit your passengers and gear inside your Santa Fe. And the XL has a whopping 80 cubic feet to satisfy your big storage needs.

Countless of Creature Comforts

Even though it is affordable, the new Hyundai Santa Fe model will come very well-equipped with desirable features to enhance your convenience for every mile driven. With available features of the likes of heated and ventilated leather seats, dual automatic climate control, remote start functionality with climate control, remote door lock/unlock abilities, a hands-free smart liftgate, power seats with lumbar support, and even integrated memory-capabilities for the driver's seat, calling the new Santa Fe as a merely 'comfortable' SUV would be a massive understatement. We encourage you to sit inside this premium cabin for yourself soon to see what we mean.

Cutting-Edge Technology

Loading up the all-new Santa Fe model with the latest automotive technology certainly was a priority for Hyundai. Standard equipment includes a 7.0-inch infotainment screen, which can be completely integrated with both Apple CarPlay™ as well as Android Auto™ for a seamless connection with your smartphone and favorite mobile applications. And you'll never have to worry about running out of battery if you wisely opt for the available wireless-device charging feature!

The available 12-speaker Premium Audio System by Infinity® sounds amazing when you turn up the volume when you go out for a spin around town. Hyundai also offers their AVN 5.0 Navigation System too, which is perfect for drivers that prefer using a real GPS system instead of maps on their phone.

Under the Hood

When we take a look at the engines belonging to the new Hyundai Santa Fe model, we see two familiar faces, and one new kid on the block. The base powertrain uses a standard 2.4-liter GDI four-cylinder engine that's shared with other Hyundai models, and it delivers 185 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. The other familiar face is the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, good for 235 horsepower and up to 260 pound-feet of blistering torque.

And here's the new kid; an all-new 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine is also available for the all-new Santa Fe, which is a first for Hyundai in the U.S. This engine offers 190 horsepower, a remarkable 322 pound-feet of torque, and some extremely competitive figures for fuel economy (it is a diesel, after all).

Regardless of your favorite engine, the new Hyundai Santa Fe will come with a smoother and far-cleaner 8-speed automatic transmission than in the past. An HTRAC All-Wheel Drive system is also available for optimized traction and control. However you may choose to configure your Santa Fe, we can promise you that it will drive like an absolute dream.

State-of-the-Art Safety

As a true family-SUV in the modern marketplace, Hyundai took zero chances or compromises regarding the safety and security of passengers inside the new Santa Fe. Amazingly, the following safety features listed below are all included standard for the latest Hyundai Santa Fe model, without any extra cost at all.

  • Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist
  • Lane Keeping Assist
  • Driver Attention Warning
  • Blind Spot Collision Warning
  • Safe Exit Assist
